Warren County Sheriff's Office taking part in statewide donation drive

WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office is joining a statewide effort to collect donations for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Organized by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association and the Salvation Army, they'll be collecting things like flashlights, work gloves, and new blankets.

Starting Tuesday, anyone wanting to donate can drop off items at the Warren County sheriff's headquarters on Route 9 near the Municipal Center in Queensbury.

The drive ends Tuesday, November 27th.

Donations will be accepted at the sheriff’s office headquarters, 1400 State Route 9 next to the Municipal Center beginning on Tuesday, November 20 and ending on Tuesday, November 27.

For health reasons, donated items such as towels and blankets should be new. For logistical reasons, donations of used items, such as clothing and furniture, are not being collected at this time.

The sheriff’s office does not have the ability to accept monetary donations. To donate directly to the Salvation Army, please mail a donation to: The Salvation Army, 117 Nelson Avenue, Peekskill, NY 10566.
