Police officer hit while directing traffic

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- A police officer was hit by a car while directing traffic for the South Glens Falls Holiday Parade and suffered a broken leg.

Officer Dennis Gravelle was struck at the intersection of Main Street and Wilson Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday rushed to Glens Falls Hospital.

The driver of the car involved in the accident is Kelly Edwards of Queensbury.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone who witnessed it to give them a call.
