CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- A benefit was held to honor the 11-year-old Burnt Hills boy killed last month while trying to save his siblings when their family’s minivan rolled out of the driveway.

Family, friends and the community came together Sunday to show their support for Lane Rowe's family at Upstate Concert Hall. Event organizers say they are celebrating the little boy's life and keeping his memory alive by bringing the community together and raising money for the family.

"The atmosphere here is to celebrate a life, so hopefully we'll have some smiling faces here today and some support for the family. I actually did not know the family when I started to organize this event, but I have since come to know the family and they are a wonderful family," said Laurie Barrett.

The event featured music and a silent auction.
