KINGSTON, N.Y. -- After several months of discussion, the fate of the Golden Hill Health Care Center remains undecided.

The Golden Hill Local Development Corporation, or the LDC, says it is still working out legalities and has not yet selected a bid.

Six companies placed $150,000 bid deposits to buy the health care facility back in September. The Board of Directors chair said there is a sense of urgency to choose a bidder, because the county cannot project where they will get the money to run Golden Hill as a county entity come 2014.

“All we’ll be doing soon, I hope, is telling you who the person is, the bidder, is going to be putting the document through the Department of Health and then the sale won’t be truly complete until they get approval from the Department of Health, so it's a slow process, but you want all your ducks in a row when you start it,” said Board of Directors Chair Dare Thompson.

The LDC would not say if they have a preferred bidder.

Another meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday at 11 a.m. Thompson said she is hopeful all the legal issues will be worked out by then.
