CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- There's good news for Amtrak train riders as full service resumes this morning between the Albany-Rensselaer station and Penn Station in New York City.

Empire Service was suspended while repairs were being made to the tracks because of down trees following Sandy late last month. Those repairs are now complete and normal service is restored with the exceptions of trains 235 and 238.

Amtrak says passengers who paid, but chose not to travel because of the disruption can receive a full refund of their ticket price or get a voucher on a future trip.
