Bear injured after being hit by motorcycle

WHITEHALL, N.Y. -- Police in Whitehall responded to the scene of a bear hit by a motorcycle Thursday night. According to police, it happened at the intersection of Broadway and Fourth Avenue.

Police say after the young bear was hit while crossing the road. It then ran onto the porch of a residence nearby.

This is a brief video of the scene shot from a patrol car.

According to police, patrols found the injured bear and waited for Environmental Conservation Police and local Animal Control officials to arrive. Police say the bear was taken safely away from the residential area.
