SARATOGA RACE COURSE -- Johnny V. is an inductee. Jockey John Velazquez headlines the Horse Racing Hall of Fame induction ceremony Friday morning.
Velazquez has won more than 4,800 races in his career.
"He has so much success, but being inducted is probably the ultimate for a rider. It was just a matter of time for him,” said Angel Cordero, Velazquez’s agent.
“Some jockeys get in and others raise the bar for others to follow and I think that's what he's done," said trainer Todd Pletcher.
Velazquez isn't resting on his laurels. It only took until the third race Thursday to win atop a horse named "Overanalyz."
