WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A hit and run car crash lead to a propane leak in Cambridge.

The Washington County Sheriff's office responded to the hit and run just after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Rusty's Car Wash on Route 22. They say the car hit the pipeline of two 1,500 gallon tankers, causing the leak and closing the roadway.

The area between Route 71 and Route 313 was closed off for just over two hours as crews worked to control the leak.

The pipeline is now plugged and Route 22 has reopened.
