HEBRON, N.Y. -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is blaming drunk driving for a deadly crash in the town of Hebron early Sunday morning. Cassie Early of Arlington, Vermont was driving northbound on State Route 22 when her car crossed into the other lane hitting an oncoming vehicle.

The oncoming car flipped on impact and the passengers, Vincent Muro of West Rutland, and Ann Rigg of North Clareton, had to be removed from the car using the jaws of life. Both were transferred to Rutland Regional Hospital where Muro was pronounced dead. Rigg was examined for injuries.

Early has been charged with driving while intoxicated, second degree vehicular manslaughter, and failing to keep right. She was arraigned and remanded to Washington County Correctional Facility.
