SARATOGA RACE COURSE -- It was a successful Opening Day at Saratoga Race Course. Attendance of 25,676 was up 2.1 percent from last year. On track handle for the 10 races totaled more than $4 million, which is up 14.8 percent more than Opening Day in 2011.

There were some issues with the new wireless internet service, as well as a drop in water pressure, and problems with the television and public address system. NYRA said they are working through the night to resolve these issues.
