SARATOGA RACE COURSE -- As a big crowd came out to the track for opening day, NYRA is also setting its sights on the rest of the meet and the thousands who will pack the race course throughout the next month and a half.

The organization is making a big effort to connect with the fans, through Facebook and Twitter accounts.

New this year is free Wi-fi internet access throughout the track. There are also several new food and beverage options for fans to enjoy.

“The great thing about the race track is that there are so many areas for people to hang out. And people kind of walk around the track the first time, they feel where they're most comfortable and they can just hang out there for the day,” said NYRA Director of Communications Dan Silver.

Silver says one of the new additions that NYRA is most excited about is the new biergarten, located near the carousel area.
