FORT TICONDEROGA, N.Y. -- American history buffs might want to head to Fort Ticonderoga this weekend. An Illinois family is donating war artifacts to the fort.

Reps at Fort Ticonderoga say an engraved powder horn, musket, and walking stick carried by a soldier during the American Revolution will be presented at a ceremony Saturday afternoon. They say the powder horn dates back to 1762.

The soldier, Amos Chaffee, served at Fort Ti in 1777 with the Hampshire County, Massachusetts militia.

The fort's collection of 18th-century military objects includes dozens of engraved powder horns.
