SCOTIA, N.Y. -- A fundraiser is held in Scotia for a baby due in August, who will need heart surgery when she is born. Folks held a garage sale to raise money for medical expenses associated with baby Harper Valk.

The expecting parents said they started fundraising after they found out the baby would need surgery when she's delivered.

"It's undescribable, to really think about how many people have been touched by her story, but then to pay it forward and say, you know I don't have a lot either, but here's $5 to help towards some expenses," said Stephanie Valk.

You can check out Harper's Heart on Facebook to find out how Harper is doing, and learn more about the fundraising efforts.
