Warm day at Alive at 5

It might have been a scorcher all day Thursday, but that was no reason to let it take the fun out of Albany's annual concert series Alive at 5. Erin Vannella talked with some people who wouldn't let a little hot weather ruin a good time.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The hot weather didn't stop brave crowds from heading out to Albany Riverfront Park to enjoy some music at Alive at 5.

Patty Smyth and Scandal with Sirsy took the stage in the third week of this summer's line up. And while all the usual vendors are set up, there was also free water to keep people hydrated.

“Cool is a state of mind sometimes, so it’s over 90, its pretty warm, but if people take care of themselves, they can still have a great time and what a great show it will be tonight at Alive at 5,” said Michael Klein, Albany Parking Authority Executive Director.

Next week, Dickey Betts and Great Southern with Kirsten Thien take the stage. Betts wrote and sang on the Allman Brothers Band's biggest hit, “Ramblin’ Man.”
