SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Friends and family gather to remember a soldier from Saratoga Springs who died in Afghanistan two years ago.

Dozens of people came together Thursday morning to honor Army Private First Class David Taylor Miller. The 19-year-old was only six weeks into his first tour of duty in Afghanistan when he was killed during a suicide bombing attack on June 21, 2010.

Miller's mother said her son loved family and friends, so this was the perfect gathering.

Leslie Fobert Miller said, "I think the important thing is to focus on the memories that' you've had and the things that that person meant to you and what they meant to the world in general. So we should remember soldiers, we should remember everyone, though. Today we're remembering Taylor, not so much as a soldier but as a young boy who died at 19."

Miller's family has started a foundation in his honor.
