TROY, N.Y. -- The ValleyCats are still working out at Joe Bruno Stadium, getting ready for the season opener. There are even more guys expected to join the team in the coming days, just in time for the first game.

Last year was Manager Stubb Clapp's first season as a manager at any level, and according to him, he learned a lot. This year he knows what to expect when it comes to the daily grind, and dealing with players who are in their first season of professional ball. He also believes that minor league baseball is the same no matter where you are, and that you just have to roll with the punches.

The ValleyCats open the season on the road on Monday night. Their home opener is Wednesday night.
