State board nominates historic places
NEW YORK STATE -- The New York State Board for Historic Preservation is nominating 27 properties and districts to the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
Four counties happen to be in the Capital Region. They include:
- The North Chatham Historic District in Columbia County
- Fort Plain Historic District in Montgomery County
- First Presbyterian Church in Schoharie County
- In Rensselaer County, Van Rensselaer High School, Brownell Farm, Cornell Farm and Thomas-Wiley-Abbott Farm
Listing properties on the state and national registers can help the owners receive several programs and services such as grants and tax credits.
