Charges against Greenwich superintendent dismissed
GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Matthias Donnelly is expected to be reinstated as Superintendent of the Greenwich School District after charges against him are dismissed.
Donnelly and another school official were accused of failing to report an abuse incident at the school. Charges against Donnelly were dismissed Tuesday.
Shortly after the charges were initially filed, the school contacted a law firm to conduct an independent internal investigation. The school says the investigation indicated there was ambiguity in what is required by law when they receive an allegation of abuse in an educational setting.
The Board of Education plans to discuss action to reinstate Donnelly at its next meeting on July 9th.
