Summer training to begin at West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Residents near West Point can expect to hear summer training activities beginning this week.

The activities will be conducted during June, July, and August, and include infantry operations, artillery firing, weapons training, aviation operations, demolitions and survival skills techniques.

Residents are warned that noise levels will be sporadic through mid-August with increased activity during specialized training operations from June 28 through July 19. Residents can also expect to see and hear low-flying jet aircraft and attack helicopters this Tuesday and Wednesday, June 5th and 6th, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
