STONE RIDGE, N.Y. -- Bikers from across the northeast came out for the sixth annual Ride the Ridge fundraiser Sunday.
The stretch along the Shawangunk Ridge is arguably one of the best rides in the country. Riders get a beautiful view of the Catskill Mountains and the Wallkill River. Money raised from the event goes to the performing arts center at High Meadow, a private school in Stone Ridge.
According to race organizers, this year was the best yet.
Paul Rakov, Event Chair of Ride the Ridge said, “This has been a record breaking year for us. We've had more registrants and more donations that ever before. We're looking forward to, this is the biggest fundraiser for the school and it's gonna break records for us and we're really excited."
Riders of all skill levels were encouraged to take part. They can choose one of four rides, ranging from five to 50 miles.
