MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Schenectady man has died after jumping into the water at the base of Canajoharie Falls.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's say Israel Vazquez, 25, jumped into the water at the bottom of the falls and did not come back up. Vazquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other men were arrested in the area of the falls for trespassing.

The Sheriff's Office says the area is a lot of signage warning people not to trespass and that violators will be prosecuted.

An autopsy will be performed on Vazquez later this week at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.

Police say this investigation is still ongoing and they will likely make more arrests.
