SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- More than 100 people gathered for the 13th annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. They gathered to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

One guest speaker said that remembering those we've lost is just half the task. He told the audience to carry the love, honor and duty of the fallen forward.

Among those in attendance were friends and relatives of fallen soldiers, as well as veterans, including one former prisoner of war who is proud to have made it through tough circumstances in service to our country.

"I got exposed to some difficult situations, but here I am, 88 and still kicking," Bob Jackson said.

As part of the event, survivors of fallen soldiers also laid down flowers and flags at graves in the cemetery.
