NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- The Saratoga Springs Memorial Day Parade that was saved thanks to Facebook and donations, is set to take place Monday morning.
The parade was almost cancelled due to lack of funding and low participation.
Participants can start lining up at 9 a.m. at the Intersection of Olde Bryan Inn and Maple Avenue. The parade is set to begin at 10 and will come to an end at Congress Park.
This parade has been running for more than 25 years. In the past, the 1,500 cost of the parade had been split by local veterans groups.
Here's a look at some other Memorial Day parades around the North Country on Monday:
- In Glens Falls, the parade starts at 10 a.m. downtown, at Bay Street by the Civil War monument.
- Warrensburg's parade starts at 9 a.m. at Elm Street.
- The Hudson Falls parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Clark Street.
- And in Fort Edward, the memorial day parade begins at 2 p.m., at the Washington County building.
