ALBANY, N.Y. -- Police in Albany said they are looking for two people involved in the shooting of a 26-year-old man on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to Clinton Avenue and North Manning just before one on Sunday, at Swinburne park.

The man, identified by family as Elijah Thomas, was shot twice in the arm, and once in the back of the neck. His family said he is now heavily sedated at Albany Medical. One of the bullets was lodged in his spine, and is too dangerous to remove at this point.

The shooting comes a day after the anti-violence organization "SNUG" held a rally against gun violence.

Steven Smith of the Albany Police Department said, “Apparently he was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk near Clinton Avenue and north manning boulevard when he was approached by another person on a bicycle. Shots were fired, he received three gunshot wounds."

Activist, Vivian Kornegay said, “We're all one city, and we're all a community. We need to come together to try to make a change, to make our city better.

Police are looking for two men seen leaving the scene, one on a bike, and one on foot. They're asking anyone with information to contact them.
