City cancels Memorial Day parade
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- City officials in Saratoga Springs have canceled the city's annual memorial day parade this year.
The parade has been running for more than 25 years, but officials say a lack of funding and low participation forced them to make the decision not to hold it this time. It was supposed to happen next Wednesday.
The $1,500 cost of the parade had been split by local veterans groups in past years. Those groups are still planning to hold their annual memorial ceremony on May 30th in Congress Park.
