Gloversville PD make two drug arrests
GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- Gloversville police arrested two people Friday after receiving complaints of drug activity in the area of Division Street and Forest Street.
During a traffic stop on Fremont Street, police said Jimmy Murray, Jr., 20, threw a glass pipe used for smoking crack cocaine. There was a brief struggle, and Murray was taken into custody. Police said during a search, Murray was found with 1.8 grams of crack cocaine packaged separately for sale.
Police said Murray's passenger, Charles Newton, 31, was also found with cocaine, marijuana, and a digital scale.
Both were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They are being held at the Fulton County Jail.
