COHOES, N.Y. -- A case of whooping cough has been confirmed at the Abram Lansing Elementary School in Cohoes.

District officials are working with the Albany County Department of Health regarding the case. The school has already sent letters to parents along with a fact sheet on pertussis, also known as whopping cough.

Officials want to assure parents that the child with the confirmed case has been treated as well as all of those who were in close contact with the child.
