GOSHEN, N.Y. -- There's a dedication ceremony today for the second memorial for fallen officers from Orange County. Organizers had to build a second memorial after the first became filled to max capacity.
Recently, there was only room for one more name on the wall, and there were two more fallen officers to add. The last name was a police officer that died in the line of duty during 9/11.
The fraternal order of police held a fundraiser last fall to raise the $6,000 needed to build a new memorial. A charitable person then stepped in and donated the amount needed to complete the memorial.
The dedication is at 6 p.m. at the County Courthouse in Goshen.
