NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is announcing new legislation that she hopes will further protect America's veterans, and she's talking about it more in the Hudson Valley today.
The new legislation would expand funding for programs aimed at assisting veterans with education and job training. Senator Gillibrand says she wants to ease the hiring process and make education and training more accessible.
Expanding vet programs has been on Gillibrand's agenda for some time now, and on President Obama's. While speaking in Albany on Tuesday, President Obama delivered a 'to-do' list to Congress that he says will help bolster the economy. The list included hiring and education programs to get unemployed veterans back to work.
