SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Each year, SPAC's annual board meeting gives the public a sneak peek at some of the new features to expect each season. This year's meeting was bitter sweet.

Board members and staff honored outgoing Chairman Bill Dake with a special plaque. Dake has been working with the board since 2005.

SPAC President Marcia White said back in February, Bill and Susan Dake announced they would help give SPAC's historic amphitheater a new look.

"Recognizing the need to make it a reality and knowing that your programming can be improved but your facility has to be improved as well. They took the lead in building SPAC and took the facility that is built in 1966 and renovated it," said Marcia White.

White also said 23 live nation performances, three new acts in the cabaret series and 20 ballot performances is just a preview of what to expect at SPAC this summer. Renovations there are expected to be completed next month.
