Teenager in critical condition following van crash

By: YNN Staff

WARREN COUNTY -- A teenager is in critical condition following a car crash in Warren County.

Four people, all 21-years-old and under, were in a van driving eastbound on Route 8 in the Town of Horicon when their van crossed the center line and exited the highway.

The van struck a mailbox and continued into a drainage ditch, striking several trees before rolling over and landing upside down.

Sara Porter, 15, of Ticonderoga was unconscious at the scene and was taken to Glens Falls Hospital and later transferred to Albany Medical Center. She is listed in critical condition.

Police said Porter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Two other passengers suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but police said alcohol was not a factor.
