KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The Kingston building code crackdown continues today. Inspectors will be checking for violations on Downs Street and Wiltwyck Avenue.

The crackdown is aimed at bringing up the quality of life and resolving a number of safety concerns. It’s a focal point of Mayor Shayne Gallo's administration.

Violators will be notified by mail and given a deadline for making fixes or for giving the city their timeframe for repairs. If changes aren't made, violations will be sent out, and owners will be brought to court.
