UAlbany student accused of serving alcohol to minors at house party
ALBANY, N.Y. -- A UAlbany student was arrested after police said she hosted a party at her boyfriend's house and served alcohol to minors.
Police responded to 22 West Street around 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of a large house party. When officers arrived, police said there were more than 200 people inside the house yelling and dancing to loud music. There was also a large group in the backyard breaking beer bottles.
An investigation found that at least two people drinking at the party were under the age of 21.
The host of the party, Chanil Hernandez, 21, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Police said Hernandez lives on the UAlbany campus, but she was hosting the party at her boyfriend's house.
