PUTNAM COUNTY -- The Putnam County Coroner said all four victims killed in Tuesday's fire died of smoke inhalation.
Autopsies were conducted Tuesday night on Larchmont Police Captain Thomas Sullivan senior, his wife Donna and their two daughters, Meaghan and Mairead, who were all killed.
Thomas Sullivan junior, 20, was able to escape the fire.
Investigators said the fire started in the front of the home around 2:00 am Tuesday morning. Firefighters said by the time they arrived the house was engulfed.
A cause of the fire has not been determined yet. Police said samples have been taken from the scene and will be taken to the New York State Police lab for further testing and evaluation.
Services for the four members of Sullivan family are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Wakes will take place Thursday and Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
They'll be held at the Balsamo Cordovano Funeral Home on Church Street in Carmel. A funeral service will take place at 9:00 am on Saturday at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel.
