NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Civil rights activist Omari Shakur joins family and friends of Michael Lembhard at Newburgh City Court on Monday.
Lembhard, 22, was fatally shot by Newburgh Police Officers in March after they said he lunged at them with a knife.
Shakur says they still haven't gotten any answers from the police about what happened that night. They are also still requesting that Orange County District Attorney Frank Phillips to step down and let a special prosecutor investigate the case.
"These four officers are saying one story. But Michael Lembhard is not here to tell his story,” said Shakur.
Lembhard's family also announced they're holding a community cleanup Saturday in Michael's honor.
