KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Thanks in part to the city's special investigations unit, police have arrested a Kingston man after finding a stolen weapon in his apartment.

Officers took Tyrel Swan, 27, into custody at his apartment after finding a stolen 357 Magnum, 100 rounds of ammunition and a large amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.

Swan is facing felony weapons and drug charges.

The arrest is part of a continued effort to rid drug dealers from the region. In March, a drug raid in Kingston resulted in 100 arrests.
