SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The family of a teenager who drowned after partying with friends in Saratoga Springs is suing nine men in connection with his death.

Alexander Grant, 19, of Westchester County was visiting friends from Skidmore College in March 2011 when he disappeared from a house party on Church Street.

Less than two hours after he left the party, Grant was captured on surveillance video breaking into an office building at 3 Care Lane, three-tenths of a mile away from where search teams found his body submerged in Putnam Creek.

An autopsy found that Grant died from drowning, with hypothermia as a contributing factor.

The lawsuit blames nine individuals for providing Grant and his friend, Michael Perlow, with alcohol. Grant and Perlow were both underage. Perlow is not named in the lawsuit.

The Grant family is seeking $10 million.

No criminal charges were filed in Grant's death.

The family's attorney has not returned calls for comment.
