TROY, N.Y. -- Russell Sage College received $9 million to help give the campus's library a new makeover.
The money was donated by former alumna, Lucile Rosenfeld Shea. Sage's president said they have big renovation plans in honor of Shea's love for books.
"It will become a modern learning center for todays students. It will also allow us to expand our educational and professional programming and of course there will be a cafe. We will call it Lucile's cafe," said Dr. Susan Scrimshaw, the Sage Colleges' President.
"Someone who was only here a few brief years, would do something this grand, to me, was just so overwhelming. I only wish we could thank her in person and invite her to the new wonderful library which will be here soon," said Board Chair Donna Esteves.
Last month, Sage received a $10 million gift from board chair Donna Esteves. Renovation is scheduled for next summer.
