ALBANY, N.Y. -- Almost every football player growing up dreams about playing in the NFL. For UAlbany's Dan DiLella that dream died in college.
DiLella started six games his junior season, but lost the starting job only to win in back in his senior season and he lead UA to its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
Soon after his career at Albany ended the NFL dream was sparked once again. DiLella had a monster senior season, throwing for more than 2,500 yards and 25 TD's. And as soon as the season ended DiLella said he received a letter from the Arizona Cardinals asking him for some basic information and that's when he realized the NFL was a possibility.
DiLella has had workouts with the Giants and Jets but many other teams are showing interested as well especially after how well he did at the Fordham Pro Day.
The first round of the draft is next Thursday.
