Numerous topics discussed at Saratoga Springs city council meeting
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- During a busy meeting Tuesday night, the Saratoga Springs city council agreed to draft a corrective action plan regarding the city's housing authority.
The agency has come under scrutiny after a bed bug infestation at Stonequist Apartments and criticized for complaints of nepotism and a questionable contract and salary for the executive director.
The council plans to vote on the action plan May 1st, before presenting it to the housing authority board.
The council also decided to let the public weigh in on a possible charter change. The group Saratoga Citizen has been trying to change the city's form of government since 2010. A recent court decision means charter change may get on the November ballot.
During Tuesday night's meeting, the city council set a May 1st public hearing date.
