SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The body of a Saratoga Springs woman missing since October has been found.

State Police say the body of Cynthia Gavitt, 48, was found Sunday on the east shoreline of the Mohawk River. Campers near Cohoes Falls called Waterford police after spotting the body.

Gavitt was a mother of two and married to a captain on the State Police force. They say she had experienced major medical problems in early 2011.

A medical examiner determined Gavitt drowned. Her death is not considered suspicious.
