ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ulster County Executive Mike Hein has commended Governor Andrew Cuomo for signing the bill that promises the state will cover the remaining 25 percent of disaster repair costs not covered by FEMA.
Hein has been working closely with Cuomo in making this measure a reality. He says the storm impacted 65 million people.
"The folks of Schoharie County or Greene need to understand, you are not alone. The reason you are not alone is because you have a Governor who embraces his role and understands we are one New York," Hein said.
Hein says the move will save Ulster County property taxpayers $3.75 million.
