SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old man is facing burglary charges after police said he stole items from his ex-girlfriend's home last December.

Police said Hector Jove of Schenectady was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home with help from the U.S.Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Schenectady Police.

They said he was trying to escape out a back window before he was arrested. Jove allegedly broke into his girlfriend's apartment on Livingston Avenue back on December 17th, where he stole birth certificates and social security cards that belonged to her and her children.

He was charged and arraigned on burglary and petit larceny charges.
