Police: Man showed up at estranged wife's workplace with loaded shotgun
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. -- An East Greenbush man is facing charges after police said he showed up drunk to his estranged wife's workplace with a loaded shotgun.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunkin' Donuts on Columbia Turnpike.

East Greenbush responded to the scene after the estranged wife of Robert Hayes saw him pull into the parking lot in a white van where he brandished a shotgun while sitting behind the wheel. Police said during a cell phone conversation with her, Hayes made threats to use the gun. She then called 911.

Officers used a Taser on Hayes to take him into custody. They recovered a loaded 12 gauge shotgun from inside the van.

Hayes was charged with unlawful possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, DWI, and aggravated DWI. He was arraigned and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail on $5,000 bail.
