RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man accused of leaving dozens of dead cats behind a home in Johnsonville appeared in court on Tuesday night.

Arthur Millard has been charged with animal neglect, along with his son, Earl Millard, and sister-in-law, Mary Ryan. All three of them were in court on Tuesday.

Investigators say they were living with more than 100 cats inside a trailer in Halfmoom. More than a dozen of which had to be put down.

Arthur Millard is also accused of leaving more than 40 dead cats in plastic containers outside a Johnsonville home last week.

Investigators are not sure if those cats are connected to the Halfmoon trailer and Millard has not been charged with a crime in that case.
