ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Olive Town Board will vote today on a one-year moratorium to prohibit hydraulic fracking for natural gas while a permanent ban is written. The ban would include hydro-fracking, as well as transportation of any by-product of hydro-fracking on any roads within the Catskill town. It would also ban the use or disposal of any by-products on roads or lands within the town.
The Town Board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
