Helicopters train to fight forest fires
CAPITAL REGION -- If you see a couple military helicopters flying around the Hudson River today, there's no reason to be concerned.
The New York Army National Guard is conducting forest fire training today. They'll be using Blackhawk helicopters to scoop large amounts of water from the Hudson River.
The training will take place south of the Menands Bridge between Albany County and Troy. It's all part of an annual requirement to prepare to fight fires with other state agencies.
