Village DPW employee charged with burglary
COLONIE, N.Y. -- A Village of Colonie DPW employee was arrested after police said he burglarized a home on Lanci Lane while he was on duty.
According to the Colonie Police Department, Christopher Sharer, 33, of Colonie, was looking for prescription medication that he believed was inside the residence.
He was performing hydrant flushing duties at the time.
Sharer is charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
He was sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail.
