Group wins ruling over charter change on ballot
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The group behind the challenge to change the the Spa City's form of government has scored a victory in its efforts to get the issue before voters.
On Thursday, the group "Saratoga Citizen" - which opposes the city's current commission form of government - received a favorable ruling by the state's Appellate Division.
The City Council had challenged the group's initial petition and now that same council will have to consider the issue again.
"Saratoga Citizen" is hopeful to have it on this November's ballot.
The last time the charter change went before voters was back in 2006 and it was defeated.
