State parks receive funding

HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced $34 million will go toward upgrading and repairing nine parks, two historic sites and a ski facility in the Hudson Valley. It's all part of the New York Works projects, an initiative that provides jobs to rebuild the state's infrastructure.

According to the Governor's office, more than $12 million will go toward Bear Mountain and Harriman State Parks for upgrades and repair to the sewer systems, as well fixing deteriorating structures.

Belleayre Mountain Ski Center is slated to get a million for maintenance projects.

The two historic sites on the list are the Staatsburgh State Historic Site and the Olana State Historic Sites.

Governor Cuomo says it's important to keep these historic sites and parks up and running because they encourage tourism in New York State.
